Spontaneous Thanksgiving
If you were to sit down with a friend over coffee and spontaneously start listing what you are thankful for, what would you say? June and I tried it, and here’s what we came up with—
  • Undeniable answers to prayer
  • The sacrificial attitude demonstrated by our Good News Club staff
  • New helpers at clubs
  • The Refuel Conference in Virginia, and a board that encouraged us to go
  • Our copier. It’s old, but it keeps on going thanks to a great copier guy
  • A new laptop
  • Our health
  • My awesome wife—that was Jack’s :)
  • A hugely supportive local board
  • Dear friends scattered throughout many churches in this county
  • Our grown children, and our not-so-grown grandson!
  • The incredible opportunity we have to go into public schools
  • The fall season—our favorite time of the year
  • Watching and experiencing God make His direction clear
  • The Bible
  • Music
  • CEF’s wonderful house, office, and property
  • The testimony of so many “senior” friends. Somehow faithfulness means a lot more when it is underscored by many years
  • The teenagers who joined us for the GNC Training Kick-Off this year
  • Memories of the sweet kids who have blessed us by being part of this ministry for the last 21 years—many who aren’t kids anymore
  • The love of Jesus, shown through the gospel, and the privilege of sharing it with children
